This is a question being asked over and over and over, ad infinitum. The answer is quite simple: for the people. Historically, since post Civil War times, Democrats have been the party who care the most for the people. Unions, child labor laws, Social Security, Civil Rights, Medicare, Affordable Care Act, COVID response and balanced budgets, just to name a few of the accomplishments and driving forces behind the Democratic Party.
No, we are not perfect, we have our flaws and armor chinks, but underneath it all; we care and we want our Cities, Counties, States and Country to succeed and prosper. We know to do this we have to work together “United not Divided.”
In two weeks, we will have what many are calling the weakest Primary in some time. I’ve even heard that turnout may be as low as 10% is predicted.
Democrats have two Primary races on the Ballot that we need to vote: Governor and Agriculture Commissioner. While folks that are unopposed will move on to the General Election on November 7; we still should vote, if nothing else than to show we are HERE and we CARE and we will NOT BE SILENCED.
We have a long hard road from May to November. We all need to pull together to get these folks into office to stop these ultra-conservative, anti-people politicians from destroying our cities, counties, state and country.
This post has a list of the offices on the May Ballot.
It begins with us.
We matter.
So, go vote, give a friend a ride and by all means, come to y/our next Democrat meeting on Tuesday, May 23 at the Williamstown Senior Center.
