10/18/25 No Kings Event on Mall Road; 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Grant County Dems! If you want to join the NKY No Kings Event on Mall Road–we encourage everyone to sign up for the Mobilize Event: https://mobilize.us/s/LlMVhV
If you do sign up for Mobilize, you will get updates.

A couple things about Mall Road:

  • For those of you who need handicapped parking; you can park on the west side (opposite the Mall) of Mall Road, park in the big parking lots–we cannot use the spaces for the smaller businesses closest to the street–this would prevent them from doing business which is a big no-no.
  • On sidewalks, BE SURE NOT TO IMPEDE any traffic. If you are in a wheelchair, a chair or a rolling seat, be sure to stay away from the flow of walking people.
  • BE AWARE of what is going on around you, any threats, vehicles, etc. make sure you know what they are doing around you.
  • If we want, as GC Dems, we can meet somewhere either in a parking lot or on Mall Road.

Below are tips for the event from Indivisible NKY:

#NoKingsSafety

This is a PEACEFUL protest!

1) Leave purses, wallets, and cash in your vehicle unless absolutely necessary. Keep your ID, phone, and keys on you. It is advised that you remove facial recognition or fingerprint locks on your phone. Change to a 4 digit code instead.
2) No weapons, even those that are legal should be brought to the event. This includes mace and pepper spray. Should you be arrested, these items can be used to make you appear as an aggressor.
3) No signs on pieces of wood (which could be seen or used as a weapon).
4) NO ENGAGING with any kind of opposition! IGNORE, IGNORE, IGNORE These people WANT the attention. They are deliberately trying to get a reaction. Start a chant or song. Turn away. Do whatever you have to do to NOT engage – not even flipping the bird or verbal responses of any kind.
5) Do NOT post anything live from the event! Take tons of pictures and videos but do NOT post live – which gives others the opportunity to know where you are, what’s happening, and to come there. You’ve already informed the people who matter where you are and what you’re doing. RECORD EVERYTHING – post later.
6) NEVER STEP OFF THE SIDEWALK INTO THE STREET! Even if your heart is in the right place, STAY SAFE.
7) If you hear a whistle or whistles going off, get to one of your sidewalk marshals–these folks have neon yellow vests–to find out what is happening and determine whether you want to stay or go. Whistles will go off if ICE shows up, if a large police presence shows up, or if a situation with opposition pops up.
