Letter from the Chair – 06/28/2024

Hello Fellow Dems!

Well, everyone is in a tizzy from last nights “debate.”  Between a pathological lying, serial rapist, possible pedophile, convicted felon and aging statesman who has done more for the country in the last 3.5 years than most of his predecessors; it was less a debate than an exercise in futility.  Some Dems and the media are piling on Joe and running scared–exactly what the GOP wants.

Instead of listening to the fear mongering about what might happen; I would suggest you educate Project 2025 and make your decision.  This plan is already being carried out, just listen to trump last night–how many times did he say he was going to accomplish goals before he went into office.  If you want to know more about Project 2025, here is a link:  Project 2025 | The Heritage Foundation

Enough of the gloom and doom, folks.  We have the 4th of July coming up next week and we need to be making sure we continue to have these holidays in the future.  It’s very simple:  vote Democrat.  If you feel that you are not being represented adequately and cannot vote democrat, then run for office!  Your Grant County Dems are happy to offer assistance to Democrats and Independents that want to run both in the future and even now as a write-in candidate.

If you live in one of our cities and you don’t like the direction your city is moving, then sign up as a write-in candidate for your local City Council.  Friday 10/25 4:00 PM is the ast day to file a declaration of intent to be a write-in candidate.

Our next event we plan to do is the Grant County Fair, July 22 – 27.  We will have a booth and will need it manned each night.  One night we will host Kiana Fields, our candidate for Senate District 17–taking over the Damon Thayer position.  We need her in Frankfort so we will be getting out her name over the summer and fall to get her inot the Senate and start getting our state back on track.

Our next meeting will be on Wednesday, July 10 at 6 p.m. at the Senior Center.  We will be finalizing plans for the Fair as well as working on how to get folks motivated to take our county into the future instead of dwelling in a fairy-tale past.

Hope to see you there!!

🙂  Debby Lucas Angel, Chair
