Hello all!
Nearing another year’s end and are starting to plan for 2024. We’re already hearing about issues that are going to be top of the page in Frankfort; one of which is CARR orders (Crisis Aversion and Rights Retention) orders that are a newer version of Red Flag Laws. Of course, our 61st District Rep is already out and against it. We all need to be looking and listening because this year, the prefiled bills of Legislators are not being publicized. Instead, we will find out about them either by word or mouth or by finding out the day they go to the floor. More of that “transparency” we keep hearing about.
Also coming up in 2024, normally this would be the year we are reorganized. However, KDP is proposing to wait until 2025 when we can spend more time actually working on reorganizing without having to spend energy on a federal election. However, anyone in the Local County Party that wants to step down can do so. One thing that will NOT change, it is time for our Local Election Board member assignments. Bill has been doing a great job of keeping us informed and, hopefully, he’ll be able to stay on the Board. However, if he wants to step down, this is the year to do it and we will need to recommend another person for the Board. Anyone interested, be thinking about it. The meetings are the second Thursday of the month at 9 AM at the Clerk’s Office and then report to the County Dems the 4th Tuesday at 7 PM.
Our Annual Holiday Party will be Thursday, December 28 at 6 PM at Casa Martini on Blackburn Lane Dry Ridge. Please feel free to come and bring a friend! We will have a VERY brief special meeting to clarify our Treasurer’s position and then it is time to relax and enjoy the evening!
We do need to be looking to grow our Party in 2024. Feel free to come to our meetings, ask a friend or family member to join us and see how we hope to move our county forward.
Have a great day and have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!
